NJYC is a nationally recognized model demonstrating successful strategies in helping young men and women find an alternative path to education with a long-established, proven track record of effectiveness. Those young adults entering our comprehensive program at the High School level achieve their diploma at an impressive 90% success rate.
The dedicated New Jersey Youth Corps staff work diligently to design individual success strategies (ISS) that cater to the unique needs of each member. Participants spend approximately half of their time in classes specifically geared to helping them earn an HSE (High School Equivalency).
In the classroom, they engage in both large and small group activities while receiving individual assistance as necessary to support their learning. Furthermore, instruction is thoughtfully incorporated into their community-based Service Learning projects, which serve to reinforce the valuable lessons learned in the classroom through physically engaging and impactful service projects.
